Played in a 4 man scramble tourney this morning, and we actually won. -15 for the day. I know, select shot winning isn't much to be proud of, but we unexpectedly beat out the stacked team-- 1 previous tour pro, 1 college golfer, a high school golf coach, and their whoever buddy. My team consisted of myself, my neighbor, and two weekend golfer buddies I work with. Shove THAT you overconfident scratch asses. :)

I was putting lights out. Unconsciouse. See the line, hit the line and listen to it fall. I've never drained so many 10+ footers in my life.

Anyone want a piece of crap Wilson driver? First prize. :(

Congrats, Crowe. 15 under is solid. Who was hitting the approach shots? Somebody's irons were lights out.

Or someone was chipping like a mofo. ;)

Nice score. I played in a similar tournament last year. We had 18 birdie putts through 18 holes. We made 3. Terrible. It was like the hole was covered in Saran Wrap. Some days you got it, some days you don't.

Sounds like you had it with the flatstick. Congrats!

Wilson Driver? Post a pic....

Looks like an OK driver. Shaft not stiff enough for my taste.

I'll sheepishly admit that that though has actually crossed my mind. :) Especially considering that I'm retiring the Loco Pro driver and 3 wood.

Never, never apologize for winning a scramble.

And there is no need to denigrate the format. It is a very legimate golf competition. I have played in at least 50.

They can be very exciting and your role in rolling in putts from everywhere is key. Ya gotta have One n the fairway and a couple that can hit the green.

rock's agonizing experience in only making 3 birdies is also fairly common. I've been there on both ends.

I love Scrambles and make no apologies for liking them.

One question: How did they award a golf club to a four man team as First Prize??

The prize pack was:
2 Nike bags, nice. My buddy needed a new bag, my neighbor plays all Nike clubs: No brainer on that.
1 Tour edge 5 wood, nice. Other buddy needed a 5 wood and fell in love with it.
1 Wilson Power Chamber driver. I was happy to see the other guys get what they needed, so I graciously called driver-- even though I wasn't terribly interested in it.
8 dozen golf balls. I gave my neighbor my share of those, too. I'm stocked up on balls right now.

Gun... It doesn't say, and the only advertisement I've seen for them says 11*. It says Men's flex on the shaft, and I can tell it's on the regular end of that. It also looks to be about, maybe, 43 1/2" long. I do like the fact that the face sets up neutral. It looks like a quality driver, though I haven't hit anything with it.

Pretty good prize packa and I am glad your friends have equipe' they need.

Hey give the driver a shot. You may love it.

You'll always have the memories of winning and beating a better team (at least on paper).

Bravo, well said. It was fun. My approaches were pretty consistent, hit a lot of GIRs. My driving was hit and miss, but I expected that with taking the Loco out of the bag and going to an old driver with a too-soft shaft. But my putter was on fire. It felt good. Our secret weapon was being laid back and joking around a lot. We put no pressure on ourselves due to the stacked team ahead of us. (I also enjoy select shot tourneys. I was on a team last weekend that took 2nd place. And I'm looking forward too another even Oct 18. I'll post highlights after that one.)

Edit: Oh yah... I missed the long drive $ by 2 yards. That hurt. I would almost rather have duck hooked it than to have missed by 2 freekin yards...
