Ok, i have so many clubs....i need some help with deciding which set of clubs to use when i try out for the golf team. I have never played a single round with any of these clubs, but have hit the Mizunos more than any of the others. My options are:
Mizuno MP30/33 combos: Pros-somewhat acquainted to them, good feedback, i get great results when my ballstriking is on. Cons: unforgiving, exaggerates mistakes
Nike Blades: Pro-Hitting foam balls in my room, these seem to give more consistant center contact, a little more control. Cons: never used em, blades, don't feel great
TaylorMade 300 Forged: Pro-A little more forgiving, very good weight to them. Cons: never hit em, still not really forgiving
Titleist 690.CB Pro-More forgiving, still forged. Cons: Never hit em, not really game improvement
Callaway X-16PS-Pro: ultra forgiving Cons: offset is more than others, cast, never hit hacksticks
Acer XDS2Pro: same as above, except no name brand

Whaddya Think? I'm a pretty good iron player, 10.3 handicap, will play about that when trying out, better ballstriking than others who shoot the same score, i'm a hitter who has a bad short game to keep my scores up. Thanks! Neal

Does your dad own a pro shop or something?

You've got to try them all and decide which ones you are the most confident with.

I'd have to say X-16 Pros.

They have a few more 60's in them yet.... ;)

The mp30/33combos you are starting to improve single figure handicap golfer they should suite you perfect they are a great set of irons.

If not I would consider buying them, how much would you be looknig for them? Postage would be about $25 when I have bought clubs form usa ebay before. PM me if you are interested in selling.

    OK here's my $.02.

Since this is a tryout you might being feeling a little extra pressure. If you think that might be the case, consider the forgiving ones. Any little thing to build confindence will be a good thing.

Ok, here's the scoop. Tryouts are going to be 10 9 hole rounds. The last 8 count for scoring. somewhere around 20 kids will be trying out, 12 will make the cut. I am leaning toward the Titleists right now, because they have forgiveness without offset. Depending on the cally's offset(as well as arrival date, customs can be a hassle sometimes), it looks like it's between the miz's, the callys, and the titleists. I'll get a chance to hit them at the range 2 days before tryouts, so i'll update you guys on what i use( and if i make the team, lol) Thanks for the suggestions, keep em comin! Neal

The Pro series X-16's have less offset than you think.

All Pro Series Callaway's have less offset, thinner toplines and narrower soles than the regular versions. The less offset was the very reason that I chose the Pro series over the regulars.

They play real nice. If you've been hitting the Miz's, you'll need a bucket to get used to them, but be ready to have a smile on your face when you hit one off centre and it still goes deep and straight.

Please stop feeding the Callaway man.
    :p

GAWSH rock, you're still trying to sell them to me, and i'm already buying them. You would make a great car salesman(better than the Subaru guys);)

for now....it's looking like the clubs in the bag are gonna be the Titleist 690 CB's, they are the perfect lie angle and weight for me. Even though my wrist to floor should have me swinging clubs that are a degree or 2 flat, these are 2 upright and poifect. But lets see what the x-16's have to say about that;)

i think you just need to spend less time ho'ing at FGI, and more time on the range... ;)
