The setup...I was playing a captian's choice best ball today. I was hitting the driver very well. Each of my team needed to use 3 or there shots for the 18. We used mine by 5. It was a good day.

    Now to the story:

Same scenerio on both these shots...We had a quality shot that we can use from my teammates early on...we would only use another shot if it was really good...It was my job to see if I can hit Texas with my drive...

Hole 7 par 5: I smacked whitey sooo far that I actually heard a cough from my club head. 10 yards from the 150 marker and the hole was 540 yards long. I couldn't believe it. I as - a hack - just drove the ball 390 yards!!! Seriously. :D

Hole 12 par 4: I am feeling pretty damn good at this point. I was going to level this one. I wanted to hear the spruces curse in surprise. I proceeded to swing so hard that my club face moved inward too much. I cracked my tee in half...drove it 30 yards...while the ball dropped strait down. I couldn't believe it. Me - a 390 yard driver - just drove the ball ZERO yards. Seriously :(

We had a good laugh... I promised myself not to do that ever again :D

Hope you guys enjoyed the story

Consistency. Who wants those boring rounds?

Driver PW-putt. Driver-pw-putt. driver-pw-putt. You've got all those other clubs in your bag - use them.

I intentionally put every other drive into never-never land to keep things interesting. Then see how many trees I can hit trying to get out of the lumber yard. Fairway bunkers are a must at every opportunity, & who hasn't marvelled at the beauty of a perfect geyser that a new ProV1 makes as it drifts lazily into the water.;)

    BTW - nice drive.

I agree. On par 3's I like to hit driver and work my way back to the whole. With the amount of money I spent on clubs and the amount of times I get to play, I need to use them all on every hole.:)

Not only that, but lots of shots keeps the cost-per-stroke ratio down & actually saves money. You've then got extra cash for a new driver!
