I look at welds, but I also am a technical person.. I work with alot of equipment, machines.. We also fabricate alot of custom stuff.
I'm not much of a welder, but I know enough to make a strong bond.. When you glob it on there, generally it's not anything more than tacked.
If I'm buying something, it damn well better be welded nice and clean.. It's no different than painting something and it have run lines in it, and the color miss-matched and not smooth.
