Hits 17/18 greens in reg, reaches 2 par 5's in 2, and shoots an even par 72? That is what happened to me yesterday. Needless to say, I'm struggling with the flat stick. I birdied both par 5's I reached and made par on the hole I missed the green. 2 three putts and a ton of 2 putt pars.

*does anyone have any good tips to help me with reading the greens? I'm having trouble seeing the line, therefore I'm not confident at all standing over the ball.

    confident putter = made putts

Change putters? you just need to find somthing that you are confident in making a solid stroke with. I recently switched to a odyssey blade after putting with a 2-ball for a couple months. have you ever seen phil putt? He just rams thoes 4 footers in like its nothing. That is what I am trying to do now. Also, take your time, and plan if you are going to miss, miss on the high side.

If your GIR is that good you have been able to putt in the past. You need confidence.

You can buy sunglasses that really bring out the contour of the greens. I use them to help read the green but take them off before I putt. They have really helped me a lot. They are the oakley M frames with roes lenses, duval made them popular a few years ago and I really like them.

I have putted very well at times, just lately I'm hitting the ball better than ever and can't seem to make anything. My putting stroke feels good, I just can't seem to "see" the line. I like the sunglasses suggestion, I always wear sunglasses while playing. I've been a huge Oakley supporter for about the past 7 years (my current pair is a pair of A wires w/ gold iridium polarized lenses).

Plumb Bobbing is my way out of a slump and into a streak. I don't feel like it helps me that much, and maybe not at all, but it gives me something definite to aim at and believe in. Which may be all you need to get a good round, week, month... going. But this isn't the only way. Any quirk that makes you feel confident enough to trust the line is something you should get in the habit of doing when the ball just wont drop. Once they start dropping, as they say, it's all gravy...

Plumb bobbing eh?? I'm not really into that. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I know a few plumb bobbers... good fellas too.
