Wilson i-Wound...

Anybody ever played this ball? I was looking around at Rockbottomgolf and these are like $8/dz. I know their older but for that price it may be worth looking at. ANybody ever tried this ball? Is it halfway decent?

I used to play the Smart Core Pro Distance, for which the i-Wound replaced the Smart Core line. I loved the Smart Core, so the i-Wound seemed like the next progressive step.

The i-Wound may likely be one of the worst balls I have played for which I actually spent money on at the time. The Smart Core Pro Distance is far superior and likely about the same price if not cheaper, and can still be found (or any of the Smart Core line for that matter, have played them all except the Balata)

Although it is a distance ball, so you live with a little less spin. Although it has a better feel. Not that I will be going back to the Smart Core, but I imagine it may be one of the best balls to learn the game with in not having a lot of spin, yet enough to hold many greens and a fantastic feel.

I would recommend steering clear of the i-Wound.

A friend plays them and swears they're impossible to tell from a ProV1. He buys up every one he can get his hands on.

This was supposed to be their premium ball and somehow fell through.
