I signed up - forgot the dates of a few recent rounds, but put 'em up anyway.

Arg, I hate how 9 hole rounds don't count. I'd bet 80 percent of my rounds are 9 holers. (I will probably just combine them whenever possible.)

The problem with these things, is that here in England the courses don't have slope ratings. :real angry:

Me too!

First I have a question.
What's the difference between an index,
and a handicap?

On Golfhound my index is 36.3,
and on Yahoo my handicap is 42.8.

I double checked all my numbers to make sure they were correct.

But I joined the group.
Thanks for not laughing!!!!!!!!:biglol:

"That there's funny, I don't care who you are!"

In your case about 6.5

To be honest I thought they were the same thing.

Good One!!!!!:thumbs up:

I guess Golfhound just likes me better!!!

I honestly don't really take this handicap stuff too seriously,
but it's good to see if I'm improving overall or not.
What the Hell,
being the worst player here is a tough job,
but somebody's got to do it!!!!!!!!!!!:biglol:

Been using the Yahoo handicap tracker for about 3 years now. Like you, I've don't have a reason to pay for a USGA index, and I'm not a member of a club and do not play in any tourneys.

I could probably just add myself to your group, right?

I believe it's this...

Golfhound takes your 10 lowest scores of your last 20, as per USGA rules, whereas Yahoo just takes an average of it all.

At least, that is my understanding.

I joined up for fun and to motivate myself a little. My Golfserve account has run out anyway so I'll start fresh here. Do they have any stat tracking? One thing I noticed is the slope ratings are off from the scorecards of those courses. All are way low. One is off by 2, another by 3 and the last by 4.

Been using this service for a while and that's the one downfall. Hey, free service, so I guess you can't expect much. What I do, is just manually enter in the course info. When you post a score, you can choose from their list or choose the "enter your own course" link and that gives you blank fields for the slope, rating, par, etc. Takes only a couple seconds to do and you know it's accurate.

Yes, it does keep stats. When you are posting a score you can choose a "hole by hole" option which gives many options for the type of stats you want to keep for that particular round.
