Well, if we judge a golfer in 7 hole stretches, then I am scratch cause I did it once . Or, even in single round stretches, then Phil is the best with his 59. Or what's-his-face with his peformance in the Excelsior Match Play this year. Or Dimarco the 2 days before Tiger's Masters birdie barrage. I'm not saying that Tiger is a has-been. I'm saying that he isn't the golfing sun that shines on the earthly field. Anyone who argues that Tiger's "best" will dominate the field is merely reliving past glory.buddha33 said:Tiger at his best right now is 7 straight birdies in the third round of the Masters. When he plays at that level, he can easily blow the entire field out of the water. Unfortunately, he has consistency issues with the driver that bring the rest a little closer.
If Tiger's ever able to reel in the driver, Vijay's best (which is usually 1 or 2 strokes better than the field each tourney) is no match for Tiger's best. Vijay is much more consistent than Tiger. Yet if we're comparing best vs. best, Tiger is still the best player in the world.
I truly believe Tiger will dominate again...the same as he did before.
Sorry. There has been too much spectacular golf this year for a 7 hole stretch to put Tiger as the best golfer of the year-- especially when the stat of # of wins for the year comes into play. Tiger is no better than the others around him at the top of the WGRs.
