I can hardly believe it my self, but last night for the company Wednesday night scramble I decided to put the 14* Snake Eyes 600 Tj in the bag. I have not been playing a lot over the past two months so I decided to go with a bit more forgiveness.
I'll be damned. Best driving day I have had in a long time. I hit every fairway but one and was driving it as long if not longer that I have been with my lower lofted drivers. The two guys I normally golf with were playing in my group, and one of them always outdrives me (he is like a 1.7 index) and the other one is always right around the same distance me since he bought his Fusion. I still could not keep up with the 1.7 index, but I was easily out driving the other guy by 20 yards or so. The only hole I did not out drive him was the hole that was dead into the wind and the additional height on the tee shot hurt me a bit.
I am thinking that it is going to stay in the bag for the next few rounds to see how it goes. The fairways were soft last night so the extra carry of the 14* was a definite advantage as no one was getting any roll in the fairway off of their drives. Every ball semi-plugged and then popped out within a few feet of the plug mark.
Driver Stats:
Snake Eyes 600 Tj 450cc 14* head
Penley Stealth 65g "Stiff" cut to 44" final length.
Golfpride Decade grip (SE markings)
