Slightly outlined this in "What did you shoot today?" but is so horrendous just have to tell it again.
Went with my parents and older brother to play their (and my ex-home) course on Saturday.
Played the first 4 holes hitting all GIR and made two putts for birdies. Scrambled through 5 and 6 but parred so no damage done. Birdied 7 to go 3 under and damn near birdied 8 (#1 'cap). Hit a good drive down 9 to 155 out. Rifled 7-iron 15 metres through the back on the fly. Little pissed but OK.:unhappy:
Play a mediocre chip from which I 3-jack from about 15 feet. Finish with a 1-under 34.
Scramble par on 10 and make average bogey on 11.
Birdie 12 to get back on track at -1.
Regulation pars on 13 and 14. Through the tough holes now and my brain automatially starts thinking course record. (Which is 70)
Good drive and sand wedge to 8 feet on 15. Then the Hoggan and Aussie genes kick in. My family are known for the "Hoggan choke" and today is no exception. I 5-jack from 8 feet!!!:dead: My 4th putt is further than my first.:hunter:
Could quite easily have vomited walking to the 16th tee.
Regulation pars on 16 and 17, while solid birdie on 18 leaves me with a +1 72 and a very sour taste in my mouth.
Still win by 2 shots but miss record by 2 (actually held by my brother) and a great chance to do some serious strokes off my 'cap.
Oh well... C'est La Vie!!
