Yeah, I am not so sure about the distance aspect, but logically you would impart less spin on the ball do to a slippery substance on the face of the club......
 
is this the same concept that top flight used as well as strata (same company now that i think of it when top flite made their xl 3000 super straight ball,

as well as strata's tour straight, which is a great ball btw ?

they claim to have a "slickote" cover designed to minimize sidespin,

isn't this the same thing?
 
Having no knowledge of the technology used to create those amazing balls (aha), just judging by what you said, that prolly is the same idea. After I read the first few posts about why the vaseline worked to correct spin, I wondered if anyone had tried to incorporate that into technological design.
