OK...so I have an opportunity to purchase a brand new set of Ping irons for less than half price. I couldn't figure out how to pass that up...so I'm going to do it. The problem is I can't decide whether to get the I5's or the G5's. Here is my thought process:
I'm a hacker. I shoot in the mid 90's. However, I have a strong desire to get better (don't we all). As much as I would like to be, I'm not a club ho (no offense to those that are), meaning this set will probably have to last me quite awhile.
I know the G5's are supposed to be a little more user friendly. But I'm wondering what will happen if my game improves over the next couple years, will I want to have the I5's?
So I'm asking for opinions. Give me your thoughts and ideas. What should I be taking into account? Are the G5's going to give me enough to work with even if I start shooting in the mid to low 80's (assuming that day will ever come). Should I learn to grow with the I5's? I'm leaning toward the I5's, but am open to suggestions.
Thanks for your time.
