Is a launch monitor going to tell you if you need an Open or Closed face? Still confused as degrees of closed/open on XL and Tour XL?

Also, what is meant by, retail?? I am assuming the standard retail club are off the shelf clubs with build specs for the average higher handicapper, as opposed to tour editions for the better player who thinks he is a tour player:
