Yep!! Sweet! I stuck 'em in the bag for one round without even hitting a single ball with them. Posted on the 'What did you shoot today' and think my back nine was something like a 38. I've played a number of Mizuno irons over the years. I also played Titleist 690mb's for a couple of seasons. There is a significant difference in feel between Mizzys and Tittys. The BStones are much closer to the Titty feel than the Mizzy. Mine are the older generation of J33's. They are pristine... and beauties to behold. If my Pings fart sideways, the BStones will be in the bag. But, the Pings are like old friends and you don't just chuck 'em aside for something with a little more bling.

Well, picked up a brand new R1 TP, today. The TP doesn't seem to be any different from the standard R1, except for the upgrade shaft. Both have the RIP Phenom. The standard R1 Phenom is .350 tip, 58 gr., and 3.4 torque. The TP Phenom is .335 tip, 65 gr., and 2.8 torque. This is definitely not an "ol' man's" shaft. Can't wait, though, to get it on the course. (We've got sleet, ice, and snow mix falling right now. Highs tomorrow and Saturday not to break the freezing mark.) The TEE I've been hitting, ever since it's vacation to Vermont, has a fairly strong shaft. I've been hitting it well. Just want to squeeze a little more out of the driver. Don't we all.... This thing has the ultimate in adjustability.
They've brought out the R1 in black. I first thought I wanted the black rather than the white. Sitting both down side by side, the graphics on the white really appealed to me vs. the glare off the gloss black. So, it's the ugly white one.

The driver is about the only thing I've been even thinking about changing/adding. Picked up the Bridgestone blades that are beauties and make a great backup set. Still plenty happy with the old tried and true Eye 2+ BeCu irons for day to day play. The R9 fairways are money. The White Ice #7 is working, but have a number of backup putters in the basement. I carry an old 3h Callaway hybrid I dearly love. The Eye 2+ wedges match the irons and I know their personality well. I have considered picking up a couple of "typical style" wedges to go with the Bridgestone blades if and when I decide to put them to work.

Youze a ho...ho!!!

"Kids" got this for me for Xmas. Going to pull the grip and put on the Winn Midsize Pistol (yep I have a hard on for those) and strip the red anodizing off with Greased Lightning. I love the look of this putter and it'll look good in my putter cave. Yep, I'm a ho!!!

Don't you dare strip off the finish on that putter. Its brand new!

I like it, btw. Don't your kids know it's not Christmas yet?

It's not here yet and that's just an example not actual. I'll post actual when it arrives. Liz (my wife knows I play Srixon Golf balls and asked if I wanted a Srixon putter, I of course said yes) ordered it online and it will be here next week. I saw one pic and the anodizing was rubbing off and not uniform.

Was able to pull the pics off eBay, she got it for a song so it's not perfect but I think it will look good raw. I'm gonna try and clean up the dings.

Paint it orange and become a Tennessee fan.

Some light sandpaper should take the finish off easily. Let us know how it turns out.

Hope you like it but I gotta say, that is one fugly putter! To each their own though!

Love my Eye 2+ wedges. But, the poor things were built in 1995 and probably have well over 1,000 rounds on them. Just this past season, I have noticed how it gets more difficult to stop a ball close to the hole. Have had my eyes open for a "deal" on some new wedges. Found a couple of brand new Callaway Jaws wedges with the 'slate' finish. My Pings are 54 and 58. I have the new Jaws coming in 52 and 58. I wanted something with a sole grind where I could manipulate the wedges and it appears these will have that. Am excited and can't wait. Wedges are almost as personal as putters. I hope these prove to be good friends, just as were the Pings.

Cabin fever setting in. Regripped the BStone irons, yesterday. If they are going to be played any this next season, they needed midsize grips like everything else. Have a couple of new midsize grips waiting for the wedges when they arrive.

I really plan on beginning the 2014 season with the BStones instead of the Pings. My Pings have been remarkable over the many years we've journeyed for tee to green. The jewels are a matched set, with same serial numbers, from 3 through LW. I've always worried about losing one or breaking one or... as they have become a rare commodity... someone stealing them. We'll never part ways. They will stand ready to go right back into the bag is the BStones and I don't see eye to eye. I do plan on giving the BStones a lengthy honeymoon, though, in an attempt to let them perform. The few holes played with them last fall, they were a pleasure to hit.

Just wanted to get the wedges in under the 2014 wire so no one cried foul when we weren't supposed to "buy a game" in 2014.

Where did you find the cally's? I have had my eye out for a deal on 2 new wedges too!
