I've been retired from for about a month now. I was going backwards skill-wise and couldn't take it.

I was swinging a club in my backyard yesterday and realized I don't turn my hips. My swing is all arms and thats the reason my distance is woeful. I end up sliding my hips back or when I concentrate on turning my hips I swing across the ball badly.

Any hip turning tricks or advice?

thanks

1. Drop your right foot back, but keep your hips and thighs square to your line. That gets your turn started and makes it easier. Watch for yanks.
2. Keep your swing compact, don't allow arms to move too independently from your body.
3 Attempt to look at the ball over your left shoulder on your backswing, watch out for head movement as you do this.
