I came across 2 Ozik shafts for sale. One is an F6M2 and the other an F7M2. The seller says the F6 is a 262cpm and the F7 is a 270cpm. I guess my general question is "how stiff" is that in comparison to something I have any experience with? I'm leaning towards the F7, which would be going into my Cobra driver.

Bah, I just bought the F7M2. Hopefully I can load it. Good price though so it'll be like trying it for free if I can't.

My F6M2 is 278 raw CPM untipped. The F7M2 I have is 283cpm.

Both are easy to load. The Matrix FM shafts aren't so much stout as they are smooth.

That makes me feel better. If I'm not mistaken the VS70S I had in the BurnerTP was at 270cpm. Now, the F7M2 is stiff tip, higher bend, right? Should bring the flight/spin down in the Cobra?

The standard is moderate tip, mid bend, high launch, low spin.

The LTD is much more stiff tip, even lower spin and mid launch.

OK. Not going into the Cobra. You'll see why in ball fitting thread.

I got the shaft in the mail today. Looks really cool. I went on the Matrix site and checked it out. They say that 263-267cpm is for 110-116mph. SS. This thing says 270cpm on the tag. I think I'm just going to resell it. I know I won't be able to hit it.

rock, do you know how much cpm is reduced by installing the tip?

I think the cpm on the shaft is calculated by Matrix with 205g and 1.5 or 1.25" insertion, so that would be none. From what I've heard about your swing, I think you could handle it fine.

If that's the case, he could take some off the tip of this thing and it would be a low spin monster. Plenty to work with as it's 43 3/16" now.

This is correct.

In the F7M2 with those CPM, I would suggest tipping it 1" for your SS.

thanks,

i think J33R has deeper insertion depth i think either 1.75 or 2"

the measurement of raw length i got from my J33R which played 44.75" was 42.5" so i think this will fit just fine if i have to tip it.

i'm actually thinking about getting 460cc J33r w/ this shaft, and get rid of other drivers.

hoing never ends... haha..

That was my inititial thought. 8.5* J33R 460 with this shaft. Either that or an Adams 9015D 8.5* with it.

9.5* is going to bring spin up I think. Then again, if that AoA was right, higher loft would reduce spin, no?

Heck, I don't know. If I get hired at Siemens, it's yours.
