Its for the hybrid, I cleaned up the bag for this year. Driver, 3 wood (4 wood loft) and 3 hybrid.

I would like to do something similar this year. Driver, 4w, 3i-pw, 52º, 56º, 60º, putter.

My last purchase finished my new setup. D, 15*, 19*, 3i-..... Last year it was 13.5*, 17*, 3i. I also have a 21* hybrid(585) that I will swap for my 3 iron on rare occasions.

I assume you will be sporting plaid slacks, a tie, and a cardigan sweater when you play. Those headcovers are quite "gentlemanly".

Im trying to play a 10.5 driver, 15 3w, 17 2h, 19 3h, 22 4h, 5-p 50,54, 60. Something has to go but it will probably be the putter if i can find the right head for my ball retriever.

See, I feel like a 17* is a 1h, 19 is a 2h and 21* is a 3h. Aren't 3 irons around 21-22*? I know it doesn't matter either way but that's always been my way of thinking.

My way of thinking is that half the time I need a long shot i am in a lie that needs a smaller head with a higher 17 loft. Some of the newer adjustable 16 hybrids are 42.5" like the stage2s and I am headed there. Other times I am sitting pretty or on an upslope even so the 3w can come out to play. All my hybrids are 1° up now because of the 3w. I am just trying to find that combo of gapping with consistent flight at the longer end of my range. Changed my Driver shaft and got long enough to screw up last years setup. Ijust dont play 3w a lot but a couple of fairway boomers that land well dont hurt the score. Its just hard to justify a club for so few shots.

I was talking about the terminology. I call a 21* hybrid a 3 hybrid because it's the same loft as my 3 iron.

I agree with what you're saying though. A driver and 17* are the only woods I should probably have in my bag but I like options.

Terms are tougher on adjusters. 16.5 +/-1.5° at 42.5 inches is short fairway wood in the first place.

I was reading some comparisions and the hybrid head sizes are getting larger, so those favored 4,5,6,7 wood characteristics are more available in the hybrid design.

Got meself a Super Stroke ultra slim grip for my putter. Has a nice feel to it.

Got myself a new pair of golf shoes. Walked into Golftown and they had clearance shoes for $50. Found a pair of oakleys in my size and walked on out. Now if the damn snow would melt...!
