What did you buy today?

Yes, IMO the 585 is 10x better than any hybrid Titleist has offered since. I like the curved sole, it's great for bad lies. I don't like the square boxy look that some of the others have.

So, what is your take on this shaft? I've never hit the Altus. It's my understanding that it's a little cheaper than some of their other offerings. All the reviews that I read were positive though. What is the black version?

The Altus was a good hybrid shaft. In fact, they made a Driver/fairway version that was good, but not as stable as the rest of the line IMO.

The black version is just a black painted version. Same shaft, different paint.

In that vintage, they also made an 8H2 shaft which was really stout. It had the full length boron section, which made it a heavy shaft. Same with the XCON 8H, which was a heavy and stout shaft. The Altus was the opposite end of the feel scale. More spin, more feel, mid launch. A good spec hybrid shaft.

Cool. Thanks for your reply. I just received it today and took it out for a spin on my lunch break. Felt great. I was hitting shots into the wind and I didn't have any problems with it ballooning. I think it's going to be a nice fit in my bag.

Guy down the street has a package delivered to his door every single day. Sometimes 3-4 of them sitting there. Dude must either be rich, or is just banging his credit cards till they bleed.

Not me, but My new girlfriend... Well, I'm a golfer and she wants to be involved in what I do... So we went out she bought clubs, AND SHOES. We hit the range a few times, and her swing is getting better. I recomended she get the Medicus iron. It came today. Her biggest thing is her wrist hinge. She likes to bend her left wrist under, intead of rotating and hinging it. So I thing the Medicus will help. We tooke her kids with to the range one day. Her just turned 13 year old was hitting the ball better than mom. Mom, 4 lessons, kid 0. Kid hits her moms driver maybe 170 180 at best a few times. mom, well 177 best to date. Her other daughter, 8 years old just bangs the 8 iron on the concrete. GRRRR. I think the next thing I buy will buy is counceling, and prozac
