I took a little trip to Seattle over the holiday, and got to play a round of golf. There was about a 2000' difference in elevation from Boise. Needless to say, I spent a good portion of the round re-learning my club distances. Is there a general rule of thumb as to how to estimate the distance change? It almost seems (for me) that for every 1000' I dropped in elevation, that equaled 1 extra club. Sound right?

Not that I am aware of......too many variables come into play...like heat and humidity differences...etc

a "general" rule of thumb is 10% for every 5000' elevation above sea level. And yes, obviously temp and humidity play a role as well.
