I'm purchasing a set of MP 60 irons with stiff flex S300 DG shafts - can anyone tell me what the S300 designates? The True Temper website specifies that all of their shafts are a low trajectory shaft. Does that make sense, or does it differ from a driver?

The S is the flex (stiff) and the 300 represents the weight (mid). They also make S200 and S400s, which are prized by some guys for wedges...

Thanks, how much weight does the weight of a shaft have as far as ball flight goes?

Not so much ball flight as consistency.

A shaft that is too heavy for you won't allow you to swing it as fast, thus reducing distance. It will also make it more difficult to square the face at impact.

Mainly what you want to do is find the lightest shaft that will still allow you to swing in balance and control, thus making the best contact and most accurate shotmaking.

Some heavy hitters, because of their strength, can handle a heavier shaft to put more torque and turn on the ball while lighter hitters need a lighter shaft to increase clubhead speed to maximize launch and distance.
