Apologies to anyone that turns their noses up at the mere mention of the words 'ladies' and 'golf' together, but thought I would give this a rattle, anyway :D

Am on the lookout for a 3-wood for mi madre. We were up at the range this avo and her 3-wood is an old thing that I used to have many moons ago - a Cally rip-off with men's DG Reg. shaft. POS, although I was carrying it 230-240 yards down the range, so its not that bad, actually ! Just not too suitable for her.

I would like to get her summat nice, light, nice to look at and that will help her a little - she does tend to struggle :( :( She plays off 32, I think, so there isn't much point in her having a 3-wood, is there ? Would you guys think she might benefit better from a 5-wood ?

I was looking at the Mizuno Java for ladies at Onlinegolf - Europe's No.1 online shop for golf equipment.

Any opinions appreciated.

my put a bag together for my wife right before she got pregnant - she previously had no interest in the game, but with her swingspeed, there's no sense in her hitting a driver

her 15-16* 3 wood is her longest wood - the next one is 5* more - then I think it goes to hybrids

with slower swingspeeds, you can space the lofts out a bit more so you get decent distance gaps

Apologies are never needed.. Ever watch some of the ladies hit the ball....

Mizuno has lady specific clubs as do most companies. If the lady is taller or shorter you may need a longer or shorter club - but you want the ladies flex.. If the lady becomes a stronger golfer - she may move into the Seniro Flex / A Flex club. If she becomes really good, then a Men's R shaft..

Ladies clubs are lighter, shorter and have more flex so they average lady can handle them..

Good Luck! Hope that makes sense..
