So I think I have given up on the idea of an R5 Tp. I have moved on to a R7 425 TP. Does anybody know anything about the REax shaft that TM puts in it? is it a decent shaft, since its a TP club it must be halfway decent...thanks all!!!

PS-here is one I am looking at from our friends at global golf, any discounts still available

The Rombax shaft is a very stable shaft, it has the same Re*Ax only the weave extends the entire length of the shaft rather than just the top third like the standard shaft. The Rombax shafts sell at $250 or so at most retailers. I didn't care for it too much, one of the reasons that it took me so long to switch to the 425 TP as TM put a mandate that anyone staff player who used the r7 425 had to use the stock shaft in it, this was lifted late last season.

Overall, the stability in the shaft was nice, but I like the more active feel of the Diamana Red in the 425 head. It has a mid launch with a fairly penetrating ball flight, I would say it is a mid spin, not as low as the Diamana White Board, but not overly high. It is a responsive shaft as well, you are able to manipulate it through the swing when trying to shape the ball flight. Firmer tip section and a lower torque than the Re*Ax that is in the standard models, makes this shaft cater to a higher swing speed far better than the standard Re*Ax.
