Need something between driver and 4-iron..

I need 2 clubs between a driver and a 4-iron and stuck between 3-wood and a 19 hybrid, or do I get 21 degree hybrid and and 5-wood.... any suggestions? If you can have only 2 clubs between that, what would you pick ?

Depends on the golfer, obviously, but I like the idea of having two weaker lofted hybrids...like say, a 17* and a 21*. I say this for accuracy reasons over distance. I think most of us would benefit more if we dropped the 3w and 5w for a 17*hybrid and drop the 3i for 21*hybrid. A 17* is surprisingly long and a helluva lot more accurate than a fairway wood. I'm am in the process of finding a 17ish degree hybrid to replace my 3w and 5w right now. I want to take the 3w temptation out of the equation. I get very little benefit from a 3w, it often causes me more problems. If was more consistent with my fairway woods, I might think differently. Just my opinion and .02.

I had a 3 wood and a 5 wood. Then I picked up my first hybrid. 23* Baffler. It didn't take long for me to realize I was not going to be using my 5 wood much longer. So I dumped it and added a 20* Baffler. I still use the 3 wood, but almost only exclusively off the tee. The hybrid is just so dang easy to hit.

I'd go for a 15º (3w)- 20º (7w) combination. Breaks the Gap perfectly

A 4 wood does a great job as a 3/5 wood substitute. Then add a hybrid and you're set.
