Removing iron shaft

So the Flying Scot clubs I picked up yesterday had those 2 heads which had snapped off at the head.
I managed to hear and pull one out only because it had a couple inches left coming out of the hosel.
However the second head has absolutely nothing exposed outside the hosel. Anyone know of a good way to get the snapped shaft piece out?

Here's what you do.

Get yourself:
1. Propane/MAP/OXY Acetylene torch
2. Vice grips
3. Bench vice
4. Soft jaws for your bench vice
5. Some heavy duty heat resistant gloves OR Your wives very best pot holder

And:
1. Place the head in question into the bench vise
2. Spend 30 minutes trying to get a hold of the very tiny pieces of metal still protruding over the head
3. Re tighten the vise 18 times because the head keeps coming loose
4. Get the vice grips to grab hold, but realize you're not manly enough to close them at that setting
5. Adjust the vice grips again so you can close them
6. Get them closed on the shaft
7. Heat the hosel
8. Pull the vice grips off because you didn't have them tight enough
9. Throw the whole setup in the trash and go buy a new set of clubs


Done. Piece of corn. Can of pie.

But seriously....just drill it out. It's your only option short of some very specific tools and a lot of patience.

You can also start a drill bit into the head and get a grip on the shaft. Then, heat and pull it out. It will come out in about 10 seconds.

This sounds doable for me. Guessing the drill bit needs to be just bigger than the shaft?

There are tools you can buy specifically for this but why waste the money.

This will work but the drill will most likely be faster

Yep. Just grab a 3/8 or whatever and drive it in. It will grip the shaft and go tight. Heat, then pull the shaft out with the drill. It's pretty easy.

I would think and EZ out and heat would be a lot quicker than drilling it out anyday. Then again I would just take them to a shop and let them fix it.
