Well, not exactly. :thumbs up:
We played in a scramble on Sunday. My Father-in-Law playing off 12, two other guys off 15 and 5, and myself off 4. That gave us a team handicap of 3.6 (1/10 of the combined) and you take a minimum of 4 tee shots for every player
I love scrambles. There’s an element of strategy deciding which tee-shot to select, which is the best putt to opt for, the order you play in etc. Generally you can go for everything most of the time, as long as someone has played a safe shot.
Anyway our scorecard read TEN birdies, an EAGLE and SEVEN pars. We only had 23 putts!!! So we had blazed round in 60 gross and a nett 56.4. And everyone played a role. The 15 h/c holed a couple of cracking putts. My FiL hit a few key shots. It was exciting to be part of and good fun. And despite missing a 5ft. opportunity at the last we managed to find the winner’s enclosure.
The interesting thing about going last in a scramble is that you watch 3 guys ahead of you putt, you know the line the speed required and you have no excuse (other than lack of skill) for missing!!!
