Here's some pics from "The Lake of Isles" course. It belongs to the Mashantucket Pequot tribe casino, Foxwoods. This is the toughest course I've ever played. Lost about 10 balls and shot lord knows what. Twofast and I just started playing match play on the back. I started coming around and actually managed a couple pars.

A special thanks to "Tachus" who invited us to play with him. He might be checking in here as I told him about Shottalk. Had a great time once I realized "man, you are on a $155/round course for super cheap, stop worrying about scoring and have fun". A great afternoon and evening of golf.

Don't hit it in those bunkers.

Hey Rock. I decided to use 5iron, it was 202.... my 5 went 196, lol. Lost ball #3.

Tight fairways and knarly rough. They are growing it out for the CT Amatuer this week.

I bombed one on this dogleg right. Had a shot at birdie and the putt was good to the last half inch.

A few more...

This was my 2nd par. A long par 3. I hit a cut hybrid onto the false front and putted it close from like 40+ feet.

Here's Twofast teeing off on #10. What a beautiful course. He bombed this one past the 1st set of bunkers. I hit my 3 wood to about 3 feet short of them... Whew! I also snuck into the right woods here when the cart chick came up and grabbed about 14 balls, 6 of which were the new Prov1's. I needed those. lol.

They have free everything on the carts. Snacks, Soft drinks, even beer I believe. All you do is tip the girl. I love this place!!

Wow, that looks like an awesome course. I'd love to play it!

Oh, and that 202 carry over water is why I am carrying my 16° (or 19°) hybrid. I got tired of my long irons carrying about 5 yds. too short...

202 to the front, or mid-green? That's a big 5 iron. I would have hit 4 and put some fade on it. Just in case.

Great pics.

But, the biggest question, was the cart girl hot? :D

That looks such a nice course, I've never played a course that looks anything like it.

Great looking course. Doesn't look like you had too many level lies that day...

Beautiful course - and great pics.

Damn, no sky ball shots. :D I always have to check when Ez post pictures.

Sweet looking course. I miss the hills of New England and how golf courses are carved out of them. Nothing but flat down here in Florida. :(

Not entirely true. Lake Jovita, Mission Inn, World Woods. All are public courses with some nice elevation changes.

Beautiful course..............looks like my area in Wisconsin with the rolling hills...........love those kind of courses. Great pics. :)

There are always exceptions, I hear that Black Bear has some elevation changes as well, but they do not compare with the courses you find in New England and other parts of the US and Canada. When I lived in Indianapolis, Eagle Creek was one of the few courses with elevation changes. Loved that course, but it was not the same as the courses in New England. Maybe because I grew up there I remember those course more fondly or maybe its the tree lined fairways with multiple elevations changes. I don't know. Nothing compares to home, eh?

yup.. this course was the hardest course i've played. it's also the most well kept and beautiful course i've was ever on. even better than some of the course i've played in pinehurst, NC.

the roughs on this course were crazy thick. i'd hit my six iron crazy fast and it still wouldn't go anywhere. gotta punch out to the fairway even though the green is reachable.

the course is very long. i think the slope for gold was 138 (~7000yds) and higher for the blacks (7300yds). i really enjoyed playing.

the one of the cart girl was pretty hot, the other one wasn't.

there were lot of balls in the hazards, usually the good ones too... all i have to say is, what a course!

No skyballs. I was losing my driver left all day. Pulling it but finally got lined up correct and even outdrove Twofast once by a couple yards. That's all I play for after all....

I wish I'd got some pics of the last few holes but it was getting dark on 15 and listening for splashes on 17 and 18. We didn't play too fast and I was letting Tachus hit my clubs and I was trying his R7TP irons. There were 2 holes that were like 230 and I remember distinctly, 247 yards just to clear the water and get on the fairway. Very elevated though. It would have been really cool because you can see your ball out over everything, just soaring 50ft. higher than the treetops.

Hopefully we can get out there again. I had a great time.

Ezra - Some of those Pro V1s may have been mine. I lost a half dozen or so the day I played. I found a spot of heavy rough behind one green when I looked for my ball there were probably 50 lost balls in there - none of them mine of course.

LOl. Could be. I went into the junk on the right on #10 and it was like an Easter Egg hunt. All premium balls hit like once too. Most of mine will never be found. I hit a few pulled missles that went in going 148MPH and hit nothing. The guy we play with could probably pull out 3 dozen or more every time he plays. At 3 -4 times per week he could pull in about $600 a month selling them on Ebay conservatively. Sheet, I'd buy a slightly used black 350Z just off used balls.
