What exactly is grip solvent ?

Joel, I know WHAT the solvent does and how to use it. I do my grips at the club all the time i just wanted to know what everyone used.
Thanks everyone, I'll probably just use paint thinner as that's what I've used at my club before and know how it works.

golfsmith catalog showed up in the mail yesterday and naturally, I had to flip through it

on the grip tape / grip solvent page, I noticed they're selling grip solvent for water-activated grip tape. I just don't get it - can anyone tell me what's in this little $3 bottle if the tape is activated by WATER? or more importantly, why anyone would buy this product?

Air compressor & a small amount of water. Grips slide right on & stay on.

What's the air compressor method? Never heard of that.
