I have yet to break 100 and I am sure that I am still going to see some changes in my swing before I finally get into a good solid groove. So I don't want to go to a nice shop and hit a zillion clubs on a launch monitor to find my perfect brand new $500 driver. That said, I have learned enough from Wishon's book and you guys to tune things a little.
Question 1: I have 2 drivers, an R540 with a 12* loft and senior flex shaft and the r7(Stock R flex) in my signature. I average about 10 to 15 yds farther with the r7 than the R540, generally carrying about 210. The r7 definitely hits lower to get farther. I suspect that the better technology face accounts for the better distance. I don't see an appreciable difference in accuracy.
With an iron, I hit a smooth solid 5 iron(28*loft) about 140yds.
Would it be worth my while to get an R580 XD 12* loft with regular flex Graffally shaft? There are a couple on eBay and it seems like a good price/performance benefit.
Question 2: I am interested in tables of optimum carry vs ball speed, launch angle and spin rate. Does anyone have links to tables that list optimum ranges?
