What Is Your Worst Hole This Year?

Didn't someone on the PGA tour put up a 11 or 13 a little bit ago? It can happen to anyone at any time.

Aye, but this is an extra 10 shots, man !! The few holes following that is equally as hard to believe..

I don't doubt the veracity of the man's story. But I agree that there is no reason to ever score 21 on a hole unless playing a medal play tournament. I always stop at 8, since that is the max score I can use for handicapping.

Scoring 21 on a hole doesn't teach you anything, although it does make for a story to be told.

I think you're being a bit presumptuous here Andy. It's easy to shoot a high number followed by a couple of great holes. A score of 21 sounds a bit outrageous, I agree, but it's not out of the question.

I took an ESC 7 on that hole in the clubhouse. It was probably just a freak accident - at the time I was struggling with duck-hooks off the tee, combine it with first-tee jitters. Just made it really ugly. The quad is pretty easy to explain too - par 3's make my life an unhappy one.

I think I played out an 11 on a par 5 after hitting 2 balls OB earlier in the year. I suppose I could have gone higher but I usually hit my ball deep into woods on the 9th stroke, new ProV or no, if it's not down in 8 I don't ever want to see it again.

yeah umm well i kinda took a 9 on the par 5 second hole this year and I was close to tears.

I had the shanks for like the first 3 holes of the round and it was the worst three holes of my life... i felt like costner in tin cup when he was on the driving range at the open, seriously, that was me. And i was putting good on those holes too, just toook me like 5 shots to get to the green. In fact, I opened with a 6 on a par 4, 9 on a par 5, then a 6 on a par 4. it was brutal.

I do a similar deal but I will pitch it into the water. After I carded a 9 on a par 5 the other day I used my Vokey & hit a perfect shot into the water to get rid of that ball. It's almost as if it was mocking me since I couldn't hit the thing that damn good when going for the cup.

Hmmm, let's analyze this. The ball is on one end of the stick, the golfer is on the other end. Could it be possible that you are blaming the wrong end?

Lol, worst hole ever.... This was last year.

I was -4 on 17 and playing well, it was an omage hole to 17 at Sawgrass. At Northview GC in surrey BC (they played the Air Canada Championship there, but on the ridge course, this was the canal). Nice sunny windy day, probly blowing around 20km/h

186 to this islandish green, no drop area as the tourney ppl are mean as hell to us:p. Well, I literally hit 7 balls into the water and ended up with a 17... I have no idea where it came from, i hit the rocks on the side on my first one (only 15ft away from the pin, so not a terribly offline shot), then it just got worst from there, i remember a slice in there, 2 chunks that didnt even get there, one that the wind completely ate up.... Between the 7 balls that i dumped, i'd hit 4 different clubs, punches, full shots, cuts, draws... Just never worked out... I have no clue where that came from

And of course I birdied 18 as a little slap in the face.... I was the laughing stock of the tourney...:(

That's near blasphemy.
Everyone knows some of the balls are evil, I am just doing my part to rid the world of some of them.

Maybe next you are going to blame WBL for his driver issues?
Same deal since everyone knows certain sticks just suck & with others they only have so many good drives in them & once they run out you need to ho them out.

First time i played i think i hit my 5 iron into the water like 2-3 times lol, with mulligans, from the ladies tees... And i used to frequently hit it in the water more than once on this one hole lol. But i almost always take a 6 ( my Par 3 maximum )and have a good time.:D

I call blasphemy just like the other guy did. Just like the hacker who hits duck-hooks all day and can't hit a single fairway, when he finally gets onto a tee and hits a massive slice, he is entitled to say "that was a dead ball".

Dead balls, old clubs, and a bad driver are all valid excuses. And we all know the solution to bad drivers.

I won't take anything more than a 9. If I haven't holed out by then I'm in my pocket. I've had 9 twice this year - both were actually worse had I bothered to hole out.

I play until double the par on a hole, lol.

Walter Hagen (I believe), once said he expected to hit 7 bad shots a round, whenever he would slice a shot he would just say "thats one."
Well, some of us seem to do hit all 7 of our bad shots on one hole. Its very easy to make a double digit, hit one bad shot, lose a little confidence, hit another, rinse, repeat.
