Might change phones, have a basic LG model now. iPhone isn't an option due to our company set up. Anybody have strong feelings either way (and why) about:

Blackberry
Treo
HTC Touch
LG Rhythm
MOTO Q
Samsung Delve
LG Tritan
Motorola Evoke

Yeah, it's a long list, but that's what's available that looks interesting. Wife and son have Blackberrys, so I'm familiar with those. Kinda like the idea of the BB Pearl flip.

Some of those have more than one model I know.

Any input appreciated!

And yeah, I wish the iPhone could be on the list.

Of the ones you have listed, I'd say go with either the BB or the Treo. I had a Treo and loved it. But apparently somebody loved it more than I did and stole it. I replaced it with a BB Curve and I'm happy with it. But I do kinda miss the touch screen.

I have had 2 BB's, currently the Bold. I love it. I have a Treo for work and I can't stand the miniscule size of the keyboard buttons.

BB is the way forward, and it handles mail like nothing I've seen other than the iPhone!

My wife uses one for work and probably spends about 1/3 to 1/2 of her day on it while working between calls and messages. She has been using Blackberry phones for about the last 4-5 years and loves them. She is on her 3rd. One was upgraded and a couple of the keys were starting to finally wear when they did so, but that was a lot of use. The other she dropped in a Toilet  Guess you can't blame Blackberry for that.

I don't think she has any desire to change outside of going to better models. Where she works seems pretty set on staying with them, and they have a very, very large quantity of phones for their employees. If you plan to do a lot of mail or text messaging, this is one of the main thing she likes about the phone over others. She also get alot of use out of browsing, and if it didn't work fairly well she would not have the patience.

I'm having issues with the BB Bold OS. I have to restart the thing 2x a day cause it just freezes. works like a champ after I restart it for a while then get to restart again. Pain in the ass on that end then the battery life isn't all that great. At least it is free through work.

hottest new smart phone out there, just released, is the PalmPre. have you checked that one out?

I don't think the Pre is available from Alltel in my area, and I've got to stay with them until the Verizon change over takes place. But, I am going to look it up!

Yeah, based on the Palm site, the Pre is a Sprint phone right now.

I sit on a computer all day...the last thing i need is one in my pocket as well. :)

I have no input into this thread as i pick the absolute lowest possible phones that are usually free. Reason...all i need it to do is call people...i really wish they didnt put camera's on every freaking phone made either....dont need one...just clutters up the menu's.

Good luck picking one...i wish i had a need for one.

I'm with you on that one. I am still using an ancient Samsung SCH8500. Works great, long ago paid off, the service is cheap and it works like a phone. That's all I need even though I could get anything I wanted and charge it off to the business.

I wonder how much the service costs on some of these smart phones? Probably almost as much as my golf membership costs me...

My Blackberry package is a extra $29.99 a month. But with it I get unlimited texting, GPS which comes in very handy, a BB email address I can tie into my personal email and some other things I don't even use. The GPS I use all the time. I have Teedroid on it I use every time I play golf, and I'd have never found Tim's Ford State Park in Tn. back in April without TeleNav through ATT. It gave me turn by turn directions verbally right into the park.

I couldnt imagine not having my blackberry.

Wife has a Pearl, I would stay away from that phone. She has had nothing but trouble with hers. She is already on her second phone and has only had it since Dec. Know lots of folks who have had problems with the pearl. I have the 8350 curve, much better phone than the Pearl from what I have seen. Others I have no clue about
