LOL, i was thinking the same thing but didn't want to threadjack. I got sick of hearing about the fed ex cup at one of the tourneys in Hawaii and had to deal with it all season.

I wonder what the Pro's really think of the Fed Ex cup. I bet the thought process goes like this: Is it a major? no, ok well then who really cares. Wait, how much money can I win? Ok yeah, I like that!

Does anybody care about the fed-Up Cup. Season's over. Its part of the silly season if you ask me. People don't give a rip about golf this time of year. Baseball Playoffs, Football, Kids fall sports, beautyful weather outside, good fishing, hunting season is coming. Golf is over.

Fed Ex would not be putting the amount of money behind this that they are if golf fans did not care.

This is flawed logic. Fed Ex is putting the money behind it because they get their name mentioned about 300 times for every broadcast of a PGA Tour event, regardless of what network is broadcasting it. Not to mention the logo placement, commercials, and no doubt SWAG that would make us all sick (shirts, wallets, hats, pens, etc).

So while Fed Ex NEEDS fans to watch golf, they DO NOT need fans to care about the FED Ex Cup. The Deutsche Bank and BMW (fomerly Western Open) are 2 tourneys that I would have watched anyway as they usually draw the best fields. The Tour Championship can be fun but it's mostly guys who already had a good year and made alot of money just wrapping it up. The Fed Ex cup doesn't make me, and I bet most golf fans are this way, want to watch a particular tournament any more or less.

PS-Wel maybe a bit less since I so sick of hearing about the FED UP Cup (great nickname BTW)

Saying "I bet" something isn't an unsupported view. It's an opinion with nothing more than a guesstimate or gut feeling to back it up. Just curious, what would I do to support my view?

Otherwise I would have said, 98.9% of golf fans see the Fed Ex cup as...

And while we are on the subject, do you watch a tourney because of its Fed Ex cup point implications? Of the 6 people who posted in this thread, 3 have basically said they don't care about the fed ex cup.

LOL, I like how you throw the "you and your buddy Fisher" out there. Like its an insult to agree with another member. You still didn't answer the question of "do you watch a tournament because of the Fex Ex cup implications?"

I wasn't trolling either. Threads once started are for generating conversation. That's what we are doing here. Regardless of what the thread was originally about we are still on the main point of the Fed Ex cup.

If memory serves me the Fed Ex Cup was created to boost interest towards the end of the season. Its not working.
