Firstly, apologies for being an infrequent poster just now - pressures of work etc!

Well, today I had a nightmare choice to make - and I'll await a few comments before posting the choice I made!

Choice 1. A spot in the Hong Kong Pro-Am as a main guest of the main sponsor, UBS. Dinner with the players, a round with a pro, sponsor goodies all that jazz at a major Asian tour event.

Choice 2. A golf day with Nick Faldo. Again sponsored by UBS I'll be one of 8 players who will play a couple of holes with Faldo, lunch, practice session and then a dinner with the 6-times Major winner and next Euro Ryder Cup captain.

For various reasons I could only do one of the two events. And I had an hour to make the choice.

What would you guys have gone for...and why?

Wow, that is a dilema. lol. I would most likely go with Faldo. I think it would be a lot more eay-going and fun. The Pro-Am would be awesome too, seeing what equipment they use and all the great swings/shots. I'd imagine those guys will be pretty focused on their game though, not to mention they most likely will be speaking several different languages, none of which I would understand. Probably would feel like I was just trying not to get in the way for most of the day.

Hey we missed you at Headford with Dave a few weeks ago. Bagger Dave cleaned us out. Bastard!

What a nice dilemma to have.

I'd go FALDO, I like the dude and I think you would have a lot more in common with him re. future opportunities and craic.

I think he has mellowed a lot from his prime, so I would say he would be good entertainment. Just remind him about his match with Des Smith at St. Andrews - the "See this now Nick!" banner being waved from the Halls of Residence.

Make sure to get some pics!!

Good to see you again!!!
It would sound pretty clear that I would go with Choice 2, if I did not read in Choice 1 "Main Guest". This would lead me to believe this may be more in line as an obligation, with possibly a longstanding impact in one way or another. If that is the case, when torn between the two, I think you have to go with choice 1, regardless of how #2 seems like a once in a lifetime experience. I read it that they are showing you some form of respect in making you the "Main Guest", which again may be a once in a lifetime experience, and certainly not something I would likely turn away from in this experience. If you did not value their opinion of you, this would likely not be a tough decision. Since you obviously do, I think it seems like a no-brainer in the direction you need to go.

Although it doesn't sound as though Choice 1 is anything to frown upon, and then again, I may be reading this wrong. Simply put, if no one would not notice you missing #1, then you have to go with #2.

I would choose the pro-am, rather than the faldo gig. I love Faldo, but to play a few holes with 8 other guys to me seems like it wouldn't be as enjoyable as playing a full round with some other pro.

I'd go with Faldo...no doubt about it...

I went with the majority vote here - Faldo.

Partly because there'll be more Pro-Ams but Faldo's time will become more limited, this could be a one-off.

To clarify, I think there will actually be 9 golfers - playing in groups of three - with Faldo moving between the groups from time to time. I've been told he'll make up a fourball for at least two holes.

So...Faldo it is. And photos will be posted!

Jaysus Kilted you certainly know how to pull them - excellent. We missed ya in Headfort - you'd rather play with a 6 time major winner than yer buddies .. fine.

So when Faldo is relating some of his anecdotal stuff, don't forget to pipe in about IG's pork sword waggling up in Portstewart ... hope to see you soon, when you finally realise that you can have too much money ;) .. until then keep the faith and all the best to you and yours...

I know you've made your choice but I would've gone with Faldo too. Sounds like a great time to me.

You jammy b4st4rd! I'd give my left testicle for that! I've entered a comp on the PGA website to put a question to Faldo and the winner gets a signed 18th hole flag from the 18th hole of one of his Open victories. I've been told that mine has made the final few and will be published in their magazine but this just seems crap now compared to yours.

I'm just so friggin jealous!

I recently emailed Faldo via his website as I had heard that he signed his papers to go pro at my local club and that he played in a charity matchplay event against Tony Jacklin not long after that at another local track of mine and I wanted to know whether I was just being gullible.

I hope you have a great time mate.

I would choose #1 you will get the chance to really get more of an inside look at the tour from that one.
