Hi everyone,

I went trough a fitting the other day and got my specs for the designated brand.

Now I would like to transfer these results to other brands. I did some assumptions and would like to know if they are right. I won't post any names of the manufacturers.

4er: 23°/60°/38,25"
5er: 26°/60,5°/37,75"
6er: 29°/61°/37,25"
7er: 33°/61,5°/36,75"
8er: 37°/62°/36,25"
9er: 41°/62,5°/35,75"
PW: 45°/63°/35,5"

Adjustment after fitting: +0,5"/+3° up

Alternative 1:

22,5°/60,5°/38,75"
25°/61°/38,25"
28°/61,5°/37,25"
31°/62°/37,25"
35°/62,5°/36,75"
40°/63°/36,25"
45°/63,5°/35,75°

Adjustment measurement: 6 +0,5", PW +0,25", all Lie +2,5°

Alternative 2:

23°/61°/38,25"
26°/62°/37,75"
31°/62,5°/37,25"
35°/63°/36,75"
39°/63,5°/36,25"
43°/64°/35,75"
47°/64,5°/35,5"

Adjustment : all +0,5", +1,5°

Alternative 3:

23°/61°/38,5"
26°/62°/38"
29°/62,5°/37,5"
33°/63°/37"
37°/63,5°/36,5"
41°/64°/36"
45°/64°/35,75"

Adjustment: all +0,25", +1,5°

Alternative 4:

23°/60°/39"
26°/61°/38,5"
29°/61,5°/38"
32°/62°/37,5"
36°/63°/37"
40°/63,5°/36,5"
44°/64°/36"

Adjustment: all -0,25", +2°

Alternative 5:

23°/61°/38,25"
26°/61,5°/37,75"
29°/62°/37,25"
33°/62,5°/36,75"
37°/63°/36,25"
41°/63,5°/35,75"
45°/64°/35,25"

Adjustment: all +0,5", +2°

Alternative 6:

24°/60,5°/38,25"
27°/61°/37,75"
30°/61,5°/37,25"
34°/62°/36,75"
38°/62,5°/36,25"
42°/63°/35,75"
46°/63,5°/35,25"

Adjustment: all +0,5", +2,5°

Are these assumptions correct?

Thanks for your help.

I have no idea of what to make of this jibber-jabber.

In a correct "fitting" you get fit for the clubs you are going to actually use. The specs that you end up with those particular clubs are for those clubs based on your swing.

And all irons should be dynamically fit to your swing. Individually. I haven't ever met anyone that swings their 5-iron exactly like their PW.

Sorry I can't be more help.

First if you compare the lengths and lies you see a great variety.
Lengths and lies must remain in correlation to have correct ball flight.

Every set listed must go thru a 'correction' to obtain correct flight with a consistent swing.

Thanks so far.

Maybe I can clarify my question: the first set I mentioned is the one I went through a fitting last week. This was at a fitting center of a major company.

The other specs that are listed are sets from overall 5 other manufacturers. I have not gone through a fitting with those.

The specs listed are the standard specs I have from the homepages. The adjustments are my guesses of what should be changed based on the frist one's fitting results. Can I calculate the corections this way?

I just would like to know if I can do it like this. I am totally aware that the best way to do it would be to get the whole set made by a clubmaker. I am just not there yet.

You can do it that way, but it wouldn't be the most accurate way to ensure a proper fitting. Different shafts and head weights can create different results, since each manufacturer uses a different stock shaft for the most part, and each club has a different headweight, you may find that the lies are a bit off if you simply translate them from the "master" set that you were fitted with. Shouldn't be a huge difference though, maybe a degree one way or the other.

Thanks, the proper fitting could be a problem. The shaft would always be the same.

The x-factor would then be the head weights.

But thanks for your thoughts.
