I need to figure mine out, I've been shanking like an inmate lately... My club head speed is too slow for my body motion, so it gets way behind, so I block it out to the right, I need to work on initiating my downswing with my arms.

The kind thing to do would be to order a "Senior" flex shaft with the Nike adapter. Which ever driver "loses", put the senior flex in it and donate it to WBL. He's gettin' pretty old and grumpy. Maybe a senior flex shaft would be just what he needs!

I plan on riding it probably 5 times a year. I'll have it for 20 years. It was worth $50 to me.

I don't think the year of the motor matters as much as the hours on it and how well it was maintained. Either way... I'm not stupid, really, I'm not going to ever go 2 miles out on lake Michigan let alone without an extra motor, battery, and gas. Or my first time out. On the big lake, this is a shoreline cruiser.

I have an 83 Sea Sprite 17' open bow with an inboard mercruiser 140 hp and it runs well, haven't had it out on Lake Michigan, just up here on the small local lakes as well as the Wisconsin river as well as Mendota and Monona. Lake Mendota is fairly decent sized and can get some good swells going.

Furthest out I ever went was right off the Racine shoreline, headed due east and kept looking back until the coast disappeared and let me tell you it's not a good feeling and not something I want to experience again.

I went outboard because I want to go trout fishing by the Oak Creek Power Plant in November/December. Inboards make that very difficult since you have to winterize them so as to not have your block crack.

The winterizing deal is way overblown, I open the petcock and rain the block and then pull the drain out of the exhaust cooling chamber and it all runs into the bilge, drain that into a bucket in the garage. Set the lower unit in it's down position so the bellows don't develop cracks from being compressed all winter, toss on a battery tender and i'm done. All of this takes about 10 minutes total. That crap with pulling plugs and fogging the cylinders, draining the gas or running Stabil thru it is just that, all crap.

That sounds like a lot. More than I'd want to do immediately after getting it out of the water in December. If it wasn't a problem there wouldn't be a ton of inboards with cracked blocks out there. I had been advised by anyone I talked to not to go inboard if I planned on taking it out in winter.

Why the hell would you take it out in dec? Mine is usually done by the middle of Oct and doesn't come back out until memorial day.
