I have Hogan on Twitter. They really impress me. The "old" Hogan made some remarkable forgings. Then they seemed to unravel. The "new" Hogan is putting out some impressive equipment!!

I’m glad they went back to numbers on the bottom of the clubs instead of lofts. I get the idea but it always felt weird thinking I’m stuck between the 38° and 42° iron....

Made the mistake of trolling the bay. Ping Eye 2+, 3-PW, Blue Dot . Matching serial #’s. $89. Mixed shafts between original and some reshafts, but not a deal breaker as I am looking to pull and replace the shafts anyway and they are not going to be up for resale.

Should be a fun project.

That’s the goal. I already own a stock set of Eye 2+ Black Dot ️ that I was debating messing around with, but since I am a true Blue Dot , I decided to find a set that I would not be destroying the value/history of.

OK, I now have some old putters to refinish. I have a few questions for you guys:

1. I have x2 Bullseye putters, dinged up. I've already taken the heads off and have started hand sanding them, but I can tell I need more heavy duty techniques. Has anyone sand / soda blasted something like this? We have a neighbour at work who runs a blasting business. I could ask him. Or would I be better buying myself a bench grinder?
2. In terms of buffing / polishing, what material / substance works best on brass / copper for that mirror finish?
3. I'm keen to put a black shaft into one of these. They are hard and expensive to source. I was going to try and dechrome the original putter shaft I have and painting it black. Do I just sand it? Or is there a better way to dip it? And in terms of painting it, is it going to chip off and look rubbish. Is there any technique of painting or spraying an old shaft that will retain it's finish?

Good results with sandpaper, going all the way to 800 grit. Steel wool will also work. Those heads are silly light, what about a cheap graphite shaft?

Didn't buy today, but it's arriving today... I realized I lost my digital copy of "Swing the Handle, not the clubhead" video series by Eddie Merrins. So I actually ordered DVDs. (Whod've thunk I'd ever do that again!) Looks like I'll have to dig up an old DVD drive and rip it again.
