Ordered a new 7 wood today. First new club in 10 years. Got a call a few hours later that Ping told them they are sold out of 7 woods and aren't taking any more orders for them.
Pretty wild. The fitter is going to try to talk to the ping rep and try to piece one together for me.

A rare but specialist wood. Vijay Singh is known to game a 7 wood when it suits.

Good luck! I've seen posts on various sites saying Ping is months behind in orders. Golf has benefited from a renewed interest due to COVID. In many areas, golf was one of the things that could get you out of the house and breathe some fresh air. The backlog some manufacturers are experiencing is good news for the industry... but bad news for those who are wanting/needing specific clubs.

Amazingly, the ping rep found a shaft for me and they were able to piece it together and I picked it up last night - just need to get it out to a course to see if it works now. Getting a tee time isn't as easy as it used to be.

That is awesome, congrats!

I know this isn't golf related but I bought my archery deer tag.

Season starts in 1 week. My hope is to dump two doe the first weekend, and then get some projects done around the house while I wait for the rut to kick off in late October and then go kill me a buck. Our canned venison is getting light, so it would be nice to put up like 30 or so quarts of canned meat.

Also not golf related, but Thursday afternoon I traded my truck in for a Cadillac XTS. I haven't driven a car since 2001, and that was a convertible Mustang. Haven't driven a sedan since the mid 90's, and that wasn't mine, it was the ex-wife's Volvo. Trucks and SUV's are trading in for so much more now, I actually reduced my debt (which reduced the payment), plus I'll get better mpg and the Caddy has 90,000 miles less than the truck (which I put 60,000 on in 2 years).

Yeah, well my back and wallet like the Cadillac. It's kinda nice driving a sedan after all these years, although I have less room for all the crap I kept in the truck. Going to be throwing some stuff away, and selling off some stuff (tow straps, drop hitch, etc)

I say, keep the drop hitch and do what you need to do to make it work.

I played in a bit of rain for 9 holes today and 50 degrees.... I've worn iut my putter grip and the combination made it REALLY slick. When I say wore out, I mean its hard and slick, and the butt end is becoming rough and tattered. I had bought the putter a few years ago right after it came back from a refinish, then sold it this year, but ended up buying it back. With that said, it was slick.... I missed a put today and took a frustrating swing in the air... the putter slipped out of my hand and went for a ride. Almost hit a guy! It was not intended at all. It's an amazing Scotty and I would never throw it. when I got done putting on the next hole I really looked at it. The grip is SOOOOO shiny and hard. It should have been. Replaced a while ago. So, today I ordered a new grip. I'd show a pic of the putter, but it's in my locker at the club.
