Lake Delton got 9 to 11 inches of rain n two days. I'm 20 miles north and we got 5 inches which the ground accepted very well.. With the Dam gone the Tommy Bartlet water show which has been operating continuously for 30+ years is now a lake bottom walk. It will be devastating to some of the Wisconsin Dells businesses. The Duck rides will have to find alternate routes. Water related recreation businesses are out of luck. The Wisconsin river dam is fine so the boat tours will pick up the extra traffic. The Ho Chunk Casino will probably benefit too with bored tourists with too much cash. Nearby, Reedsburg is under water and has only one functional road in the area.
I have relatives in the Southwestern part of Wisconsin, Crawford and Vernon County, and they are under water with dams bursting roads washed out and villages evacuated. This happens about every other year, last year included, so the emergency services are in place. A very hilly area with clay based soils. I often wonder why people insist on building in the valleys. But they do.
Golfed at Lake Arrowhead yesterday (50 miles north of the Dells) and all is fine. Also Northern Bay is unaffected.
