We're in a week of "cold snap" up here in Wisconsin. Today was -2° F (-18 C) and tonight it's already -17° F (-27 C). That's not counting the "wind chill". Supposed to be colder tomorrow.

Whole week is going to be like this.

So come on up and play some golf. Or more likely go ice fishing. There's only an inch of snow. :ninja:

Terrible here.

We're predicting to get freezing rain on Thursday.

Should I drive the AWD Cayenne with summer tires, or the FWD Acura with A/S tires?

Freezing rain?? Neither!!! Y'all "Southerners" ain't got no 'sperience drivin' on ice. Your'n highways will be lookin' like a demo derby at a Labor Day State Fair up here. Make sure your generator fuel tank is filled in case y'all lose power. That'll be 'nuf to operate you'uns computer and get the porn networks. Nuthin' more 'portant than that!!:D:D

Whichever you do decide to get out on the roads with... if you do need to get out... be careful!! The Shot Talk family has dwindled to where we don't need anyone else leaving by way of a vehicle accident!!!

8 degrees F here as I type this. Supposed to stay in low teens today. Single digit subzero tonight. In a winter weather advisory now. I-70 from Kansas City west to Salina has band of snow hovering over it. They're only saying about 4" of snow, but that is enough to mess up traffic for those returning home from holiday gatherings. We had from a dusting to 1" Saturday night/Sunday morning. Been below freezing and cloudy so that mess was still laying in yards. Took the dog for a walk yesterday afternoon and there were some pretty slick sidewalks where folks hadn't cleaned them.
We're predicted to remain cold with occasional snow for the next 7 to 10 days. Will only be morning coffee at the clubhouse for a while.

Have to drive to work, no matter the weather. The bosses get to stay at home and "telework", but the peons have to be there, on time. Those chickens don't slaughter themselves, you know.

Was -8º this morning on my way to a 4 hr work day, no idea what the wind chill was. Supposed to get to a blistering 5º today.

If you order winter tires now, they might be there by then. Tire Rack will even mount/balance on wheels if you buy them together. Winter tires are absolutely amazeballs on snow/ice. Can't believe I went all those years without them.

Acura. Summer tires turn to stone below 40 deg F.

31 Degrees here today

Summer here. Scheduled to play 9 holes tomorrow morning. What's this thing called snow?

-2 F right now. Wind chills quite a bit colder than that. We've had above normal temps most of the year... except during July/August when temps were below normal. Perfect year for golf!!! Guess one week out of 52 shouldn't upset me too much. Just hope it doesn't last!!!

35 at the moment, high of 45 today. But, our forecast is pretty similar to sib's. Funny thing is, when I got up, we were under an ice pellet and slick spot warning. Warning stated it would be above freezing by 10. It was already 34 at the time, and there was no precip at all during the night. None now, either.
