I watch Golf Central online in the UK and for the first five minutes of the coverage of the post round they talked about Tiger, the guy shot -3, hold on, Isn't the big story that Luke Donald shot -8? Bad journalism I think.

I think if you are going to get perturbed with TGC starting each broadcast featuring Tiger, you will be in a world of hurt. It's been that way for 12 years, and will be that way for another 15 or so.

And TGC knows Luke Donald isn't going to win the Memorial anyway. It's played in the US isn't it? Monty Jr.

Bad journalism I think.

There is very little of anything in U.S. media of any form which contains much journalism, let alone good journalism. It's been progressively getting worse for about 20-25 years now. I've watched it happen before my very eyes and it's pretty sad.

It's why I don't watch any network TV, very little other TV except movies and "events". They are even trying to ruin sporting events, golf is one of the few left that's even watchable.

One of the reasons I don't pay the premium to subscribe to TGC at home. (I do get it "free" at my work lodging during the week.)

TGC is 95% infomercial... including Golf Central. And, I do understand the excuse/reason for keying the entire broadcast spectrum around TW... I just have trouble tolerating it.

TW was golf. His success brought many a person into the game. His success raised viewership of not only TGC, but any network that carried a tourney in which he was entered. That's a fact. TW was a blessing that found its way into this game and many reaped the rewards.

Today, one of any number of good, talented professionals can win at the PGA level. It has become, in my opinion, much more exciting to see a myriad of winners... playoffs... tourney changing strokes on the 72nd hole... than to see the same person win week after week after week. But, that's my opinion.

TGC is hurting. Viewership has dropped. Golf rounds, world wide, have dropped. And, there doesn't seem to be the finances or motivation to change what has worked for them in the past... the TW Show. I feel we will continue to see TW highlights in tourneys where he's not even playing. We'll continue to see TW highlights in tourneys where he's not on the leaderboard. (And, NBC/CBS aren't any different in that regard.)

Personally, it's a fact of life. I enjoy golf too much to allow the TW infomercials to take away from the other great players. Luke Donald did play an excellent first round. Will TGC give him his due? Of course not. However, should Donald or Olgive or Johnson or ..... win this week the winnings they take home will be enhanced by the money TW brought to this game. And, because of that, you won't hear any one of them whining about the air time TW gets vs. them.

I am so sick of Tiger it isnt even funny.

I'm a bit annoyed about how little they show of Mike Weir. He is shooting well this week, and they have shown 2 shots. Instead I'm watching everyone of Jim Furyks loopy assed swing, or Kenny Perry (I like perry though, but his swing I find painful to watch.) :(... Thats no good for anyone.

In don't like it when if anyone except Tiger or Phil wins, they end the telecast immediately & you don't get to see any interviews with the winner. A few weeks ago Jerry Kelly won & the second his winning putt dropped in they went to 60 minutes.

Now if it had been Tiger making that winning putt you can damn well bet 60 minutes would have been pushed back.

Whistling innocently and waiting for the Tiger fans/lovers to show up and flame the thread, :emot-ange

You don't find it odd that you are actually posting this?

You and everyone who continues to post on these type situations are the EXACT reason the Tiger's and Phil's get the promotion they get!!! :dead:
Except it, you create your own misery.

Lucky I'm a big tiger fan though I guess. I dont know how people can not like the guy's determination and attitude towards life. I think he's a great insperation. But thats me, to each his own.

Fr. Chris.

No misery here my friend just asking for a bit of journalism whereby they report on the big story of the day, not skewed in favour of a particular player, I am as big of a fan of Tiger as anyone but I think he should be in the appropriate point in the post round summing up as his position decrees, I don't think the powers that be do it to annoy golf watchers, I think they know where the bread is buttered. I will "Accept " whatever is on the telecast as I cannot change it due to my non employment by The Golf Channel, I actually enjoy Feinsteins segments as they look for a different story, much the same as his great books have done, there is always a story, It is lazy journalism to always use Tiger

I don't dislike Tiger but I would like to see more shots from players on the Top ten of the leader board at least. Personally I like watching golf shots not watching the leaderboard in front of a Fountain or bunch of flowers whilst the pundits talk crap. They could show a lot more coverage than they choose to do. Tiger will always get the biggest slice of coverage but come on lets see some other players as well.

I personally have started watching 'Golf Night' on Sky rather than the Live US golf I pay to watch on Satanta. Golf Night is highlights of the days play on the Euro Tour, they feature 3-4 groups in the morning round and the same in the afternoon round and show any other great rounds/shots by anybody else in the field. When I put the Live US coverage on I last about 2 minutes before they are talking crap over the Leaderboard, or have gone to adverts then I just put Golf night back on. Can't wait for the BBC's coverage of The Open where you see all the players... I can't believe the BBc can get Golf coverage right once or twice a year when they cover it and the week to week coverage sucks big time.

Somebody page Figjam.:D

I can take his place...

Tiger is the greatest golfer ever and no bad word should be ever said about him, his wife, his family, his caddie, his swing instructor, his nutritionist, his gym instructor and any other member of his entourage including the media and commentators.

And Phil Mickelson sucks because he has man boobs! Same for Monty!

How'd I do?

How'd I do?

You forgot to run down the PGA Championship as being only one step above the Goatpass Open but other than that, spot on.
