what did you shoot today?

So what do you think? Son hitting a 7 iron to about 6 ft. Strong wind but nice balance. He now plays off a 9 h/c.

I never comment on swings because everyone has their own and there are no points awarded for looking like Adam Scott. All that matters is if the ball goes where it is intended. A 9HC would indicate that the young lad is a PLAYA! ;)

Played Two Oaks North near our course. Much fairer greens. With the new driver finding most of the fairways (accept two) and hitting my irons decent again shot 41/39. Two birds and a few pars and nothing real nasty. I KNEW my ugly scores this year were from Waushara CC nasty greens and pin placements. Will join Two Oaks next year.

Assuming you are playing the white tees at both, Twin Oaks should be noticeably easier. It has a slope of 118 and Willywonka has a slope of 124 or 126 depending on what two nines you play.

New driver is a fairway finder. So confident with it used it on a couple tight holes and it worked. Shot 39 on the back today. Rained on the front and battled trying to see out of my eye glasses on the front so sucked a 51. Oh well.

44/43 = 86... sorta. Greens were top-dressed this past week. Almost pure sand. Putting was like putting out of a sand bunker. Impossible to know where a putt was going. Impossible to judge chip/pitch shots and how they would react.
I like this driver more every time I play. Still enjoy the Big Bertha 3 and 5 woods. Dislike the iron more with each round. Wedges and putter get a pass due to the condition of the greens.

E-mail blast from the course on Thursday. Said they had scheduled a 60 person tournament for 7:30 a.m. I immediately called. Told me our tee times were solid and the tourney would shotgun off the back. Thought the worst we would see would be maybe catching up to the tournament on 15 or 16.
We had 6 so split 3 and 3. In the first group. On #9 green, there were still tournament players on #10. One of our group quit. Didn't want to follow the slow tourney. The other guy and I went back and caught our other three coming off #7. So, we replayed 8 and 9 with them. Then, my cart partner quit. That left just a four to play the back. We never caught the tourney. Going back and playing those two holes over gave the tournament enough time to clear out. Beautiful weather!
