Its going to be breezy and cool and I'll bet the rough is nice and lush. The draw will play it's usual part.

On "Live From The Open" on the Golf Channel I really like the hole description segments from Frank Nobilo.

And another thing. I think Duval is doing a great job. Look forward to his commentary after coming off the course each day (2 days).
Duval rocks. He is an analytical thinker with real world/recent experience and he leaves his ego in the trunk of his car. Johnny Miller - permission to wise up.

Troon open results:

2004 - Todd Hamilton - USA
1997 - Justin Leonard - USA
1989 - Marc Calcavecchia - USA
1982 - Tom Watson - USA
1973 - Ton Weiskopf - USA
1962 - Arnold Palmer - USA
1950 - Bobby Locke - S Africa
1923 - Arthur Havers - England

I see a pattern.

Merica!!!

Yip as I thought. Today is scoring day! The course looks great, all the names are starting to appear at the top of the leader-board. And from what I have seen so far, it looks fairly benign at the moment, light breeze and soft greens. Tomorrow could be a different story, as Mr. Wind and Mrs. Rain make an appearance. Mr. Duval's back nine is a serious record contender!

You mean it's possible to have a major where the winning score isn't +15? Are you watching USGA?
