it's been a struggle working myself out of the winter doldrums. things finally started clicking at the range today. realized i'd been fighting an open clubface at the top, so i worked on that a bit and it seemed to pay dividends.

worked a low 75 yard shot with pretty good results, though it was tough not to carry it too far. amazing how far the ball will go with a minimal backswing when you hit it solidly.

finished by putting 3 out of 4 balls within 20 feet of my target with a 5 iron. it's been a long time since i left the range with a smile on my face. felt great. :)

I never take more than a 3/4 swing(or what feels like a 3/4 swing) with anything shorter than a 6i.

When i try to full swing the short clubs i always mis-hit them and i dont seem to lose any distance when i hit a solid 3/4 swing than when i attempt a full swing with those clubs....probably the best swing change i have made thus far

75yrds is a bit short for a 5 iron,

I love those days. Walk away feeling 10ft high.
