If you couldn't live in your country ...

^^^ Ditto^^^

Well, other than my home country I've lived more than half my life between Australia and the U.S. And I would live happy in any of them both as I usually do at least half the time every year

Honestly I have no idea. I enjoyed my year and a half in Germany, but it got awfully cold.

Austrian alps
Anytime someone mentons the Alps...
About a hundred years ago, when I was young and stupid, I ended up in a Bavarian bar in Chicago. The entertainment was a band with the guys in those stupid looking shorts with suspenders. They all had these little "squeeze box" accordians and banjos. The owner of the bar was good friends with the person we were with. So... the beer just kept flowing. The music kept playing. The night seemed to just disappear into.... one of the worst headache/hangovers I can ever remember. My head is hurting right now just thinking about it.

If the Alps are full of those yodelling, funny-looking-shorts wearing, mountain goat breeding Bavarians... have fun!!!!

I SE Asia-to damn hot/humid, not real interested in S America- no particular reason though, probably not Africa either. Although I'm curious about South Africa-two words: Air Jaws.

So that leaves Europe, Australia and NZ. You guys choose for me.

Thailand is real high on my bucket list, was just checking out trips there the other day and wife and I can get an 8 day escorted trip with some very cool sites for $2700 total...only thing is I don't want anything escorted.

Tea mentioned Ireland and I loved visiting but don't know if I could live there. Limp said Canada but not sure of the weather, hell live in Vancouver as the winters there are balmy compared to the crap we get. I could easily live there if everything wasn't so damn expensive.

Few different shots of the Italian/Austrian and German Alps. One was Innsbruck Austria and another Garmisch Germany.

And could definitely live on the Almalfi coast of Italy, stunning beauty there.

Tough one...

I would probably die fighting to stay here....so I wouldn't have to worry about where I'm going to move.

No offense to the rest of the world...but there's really nowhere I would be interested in being a citizen of.

SE Asia can be very cheap if you stick to guest houses. And that is the most interesting way to travel there. I could easily spend a year bumming around SE Asia ... the wife and I may very well do something like that once the kids are on their own(ish).

We've been to Thailand a couple of times, the Philippines and Indonesia, but not Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam ... yet.

San Jose is pretty firkin awesome!View attachment 25883

All shots from San Jose and I don't recall the road but it lead us back to Oakland and it was one of the best roads anywhere, full of twists and turns and had me wishing I had the R1.
