Trying to beat WBL?Tour Edge HL4 driver
Never going to happenTrying to beat WBL?![]()
That challenge never occurred to me......................He's too far ahead at this point.Trying to beat WBL?![]()
Lynx was a popular brand years ago. I think Freddie Couples played them when he joined the tour. Those must be about their first try. They were bought out by Golfsmith and then Golfsmith went under. Sounds like someone is trying to bring them back.I bought these yesterday. A set of 2-PW for under $20. I can't find much about them on the internet. No reviews really. And it's too cold for me to go out and give them a try. Anyone have any info on these? View attachment 32196View attachment 32197

Right on! The Lynx irons above were manufactured before the early "square" Parallax irons. (Freddy played the later version which had a more typical shape. Freddy made television commercials for the Lynx 'Black Cat' irons, even though he played the Parallax. Freddy also touted the 'Boom Boom' Lynx driver, but played a Callaway most of the time he was with Lynx.)Lynx was a popular brand years ago. I just bought a Gold SKLS swing trainer. It's a cheaper version of the Orange Whip. At age seventy I really have to work to stay flexible. This aid is supposed to help with flexibility, strength and tempo if one uses it consistently. My plan is to try to work with it everyday after my morning work-out. Does anyone else use this or the OW and if so, what are your results?
I bought one off amazon maybe 2 years ago. I use it to stretch before every round. I like it, helps with my tempo and getting too quick from the top. This is gonna sound like an infomercial but seriously, I’ve played my best golf the last 2 seasons and I credit this with part of it. It’s not a magic cure but I feel like it helps me get and feel where the right plane is. It also forces me to pause a bit at the top and start my downswing with my lower body rather than my upper body. It’s helped me straighten out my drives for sure.
Very much the same thoughts. Not sure about my best golf, because I’ve kinda taken a break to be dad. But it for sure helps warm up!!
Well it wasn’t solely this that led me to my best golf. I stopped trying to hit the ball as hard as I could and instead focused on hitting the center of the club gave. I still have stretches where I get into my “hot it hard” mode and get lost in the course, pretty much the last 2 months really. I’m still pushing to break 80, might have a round or two left to do so before the weather shuts ya down.
Best of luck with your goal big guy! I hope you smash 80 before the season ends!!
I was speaking more from personal experience with my best rounds. I’m not even sure how to describe how I play my best, other than I go into a zone and just work at keeping myself there. If I was to use 2020 as an example quickly; the four hole rained out round was actually a blessing we got stopped. I was way too amped up for that round, practiced way too much before, woke up way too early the day of. I was shaking with excitement as I went to tee off on #1. And I was playing like SHIT!!! My only true round of 2020 was never guaranteed, so I wasn’t even sure I’d get out and really didn’t care if I did. The FIL had to wake me up and pretty much drag me to the course. I spent fifteen minutes with some chipping and putting. Stretched with a coffee and played like I’d been playing all summer...
Sometimes this game just makes you scratch your head eh?!?! Stupid game!
Jim, you need all new clubs.Well it’s not looking good. I haven’t hit it solid in at least a month. I’ve been snap hooking my driver and weak slicing my irons. Ironically enough, or maybe cruelly, the weakness in my game at the beginning of the year-chilling-has been keeping me afloat. I’ve only drifted over 90 once the last 6 weeks and it’s mainly due to chipping and putting. I might be able to squeeze in another round or two, we’ll see...79 sure would be nice!
