I'm not a Tiger guy, but..

I also couldn't help but notice that Tiger switched from the Blueboard to the Whiteboard in his driver. (He's still playing the Blueboard in his 3W and 5W)

Is this a new thing or has he been playing the Whiteboard for a while? I thought I saw the Blueboard at Augusta.

BTW - Phil was playing the Whiteboard also.

I hope he wins, but I'll need to watch it on mute. Miller I like, Roberts and the other moron shouldn't be allowed in the parking lot

Generally, I like the CBS guys better. I will say, I like Johnny Miller, but he keeps trying to compare himself to Tiger with the knee pain. . ."I know exactly what he's going thru. . .I know how he feels." That sort of thing. And I'm thinking to myself, did J.Miller ever swing with as much torque and power as Tiger. And if he did, I don't think he ever did it as quickly after surgery as Tiger has. I think Johhny has TigerEnvy

Oh, and Wi-golfer, the Kreskin comment was great

I can't link to this thread... but head over to BSG (shame) and find the Johnny Miller game thread... freaking hilarious... marine layer LOL

I saw this too. On 18 I think I saw a whiteboard in his driver. I thought that he used to play the blueboard.

Kind of a pointless post. Don't know when he switched.

January of this year

Mickelson is actually playing the new Mitsubishi prototype, the Fubuki, the white marking just under the grip is the star that is on the Fubuki, not the flower from the Diamana.

I don't understand the concept of anyone who plays golf, 'not being a Tiger guy'?

I was lucky to grow up watching Seve, Nicklaus, Watson, Faldo and Norman playing against each other, but sadly missed Hogan. Tiger, being the greatest there has ever been, is a privilege to watch.

We are lucky.

For me? Tiger, Jordan, Gretzkey, Armstrong(shame its become what it has), Ripkin(game streak, though same shame for baseball), the list goes on...

When you make up 5 strokes in 3 holes on the back nine at the US Open things are going your way. If he gets 2 birds and a par, he's two back on a bad knee. Simply amazing golf, way more than anyone can expect even out of Tiger.

The only thing that is going to stop him, now, is his knee.

Kind of a bad break for Westwood. If Tiger finishes out at even par, Lee gets paired with Rocco and would likely shoot even par or better and take his first major. Paired with Tiger, I am expected Lee to melt a bit under the spotlight and have his first over par round of the Open. If he shoots even par or better, it will be an amazing accomplishment.

just like the ad says..no one is even close in terms of mental toughness and testicular fortitude...that birdie on 17 was pure showboating

Westwood is going to step onto the Tee Box, take a look at Tiger in his red shirt and black pants, realize that he's spotted this guy a stroke and think "Oh Sh*t" !

Irish, the knee is nothing, Hogan played after he nearly died with 2 legs crushed, they had to be soaked in salts for several hours just to get round, he even collapsed on the 15th at Merrion, his playing partner had to help him up.

Tiger's knee is nothing, he will come second to the best player in the world right now, Lee Westwood

There's that whimsical British humor again...

Dave there's an interesting thread on the "knee" over in the members forum ;)

Westwood is definitely playing the best golf IMO. Tiger is driving it all over Southern CA, and is hitting it so far offline he is catching some good breaks. I really hope he plays that soft cut and finds some fairways and puts up a solid US Open type of round.

Westwood should be able to handle the pressure... he used to be like the #4 player in the world or something, I hope he can hold it together and stay close.

The only other guy with a chance I think is Ogilve. I don't think Rocco has it in him.

Also, I think if Tiger shoots level par today he wins by 2 or 3.

dave probably knows this, but do you guys realize that the last time Lee Westwood played head-to-head with Tiger (on a good knee!) that Westwood beat him?

Not saying it will happen, my money is still on Tiger in the final round but it's not that much of a stretch that Westwood can win.
