Just noticed Mike "Fluff" Cowan on Furyk's bag. Been carrying for Furyk since fired by Woods in 1999. Forty plus years caddying on the Tour. He's 69 years old and still lugging a heavy staff bag up and down hills on PGA Tour venues. Would love to sit down with him and hear some of the stories he could tell.

Rory wasn't whining about the rough, nor did he brag that he would hit all the fairways. He merely stated (like I did) that the fairways were wide enough for this field and the course was not unfair for this event. He did not blame the course for missing the cut - he knows he played badly. I think Na looks the worst in all this after his public rant about the rough and then shoots -4 on day 1. There's the guy who needs to shut his pie hole.

Tommy Fleetwood: Still using mostly Nike clubs. Looks like he might live in an Arkansas trailer part and drive a 1972 F150 with an 8" lift. Playing lights out!!!

Patrick Reed: Has worn red, white, and blue every day so far. Has caught fire and looks like he's really having fun out there.

Erin Hills pro shop must have a sale going on pink shirts. What's with so many players wearing some shade of pink?

Still would like for the course to begin eating players' lunches. Evidently, ain't gonna happen. Seeing some stellar golf, though.

We obviously disagree on this one. He was likely fed bait questions by the media but IMO he had too much to say. His comments about "pack up and go home" were a slur aimed at the the other pros who disagreed with him. All he had to say is, "the course is fine with me" and leave it there. I think in the end Rory got his just desserts; he had to pack up and go home.

Yeah, I've been watching him on the the Euro Tour for a bit and noticed the Nike clubs thing. He must really love those sticks and not care about the money.

Other than him, I think Molinari still games a Nike putter.

I think we could go into Sunday having a dozen players within 2 strokes of the lead. This is how Sunday at a Major is supposed to shape up. We'll see which of these guys have guts... or which upchuck their guts all over their shoes.
